Wondering if I'm the only one that thinks the US will have the highest medal count?

USA! USA! USA!

Honestly, normally my wife and I are huge olympic junkies, but this one just seems to lack a lot of the lustre this time. I have been looking at #sochifails and wondering how badly a country could mess this up. I participated in the 2000 olympics in sydney, and their olympic village was incredible and awe inspiring. If I was like some of these kids, and sochi was the only olympics I ever made it to, I would feel kind of robbed.

Its incredible Russia even pulled it off. I think this has been a huge failed bluff of everything being OK in Russia.

Me too M. Used to love watching Jim MacKay on Wide World of Sports, but this new vibe coming out of the "it's all about me" mindset is really screwing things up.

Why do I care about the backstory? Show me the events! I want to see luge, skeleton, moguls, bi-Athlon (any endurance event with a weapon is really cool, imagine they had to do something similar for the steeplechase event in the Summer games), speed skating (regular & shortcourse), slalom, super-g, etc...

Man, the way they are moaning about this year's event and everything you would think this was going to be a repeat of Munich in '72.

... very pronounced shudder & a moment of silence ensues ...

We have someone from here in our hometown Gracie Gold competing in ice skating so our city is all jacked up on the Olympics

Very cool Art, certainly pulling for a hometown favorite.

Anyone else got some peeps in the big show?

Who's got the medal count?

Has Norway pulled ahead, again?
